CHURCH COMMITTEES The Methodist Church is a committee driven church. As United Methodist's, we follow the book of Disciple of the United Methodist Church as guidelines to run our church. There are committees for each individual ministry and work areas that meet and makes decisions as to how the church should run. God has richly blessed us with some of the most influential leaders that you could meet.
Adult Ministry Committee: The Adult Ministry Committee plans and nurtures activities and fellowship for the adult age group of the church. They plan day trips, dinners, picnics, and retreats.
Administrative Board : The Administrative Board is the body of the church where all reporting and voting takes place. The Board is charged with caring for the overall health of the church. Persons are members of the Board by virtue of offices held or committee involvement. Meetings are open to all church members

Board of Trustees : It is the responsibility of the Board of Trustees to oversee the care and upkeep of our church, church properties, furnishings, and land.
Bus / Van Committee: This committee’s job is to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the church vehicles. Children's Council: The Children's Council exists to assist in planning and supporting the ministries for our children. These things include Sunday school classes, Children’s worship, Vacation Bible School, Bible Studies, Christian Education, holiday and fellowship activities for the children and their families. Communications: This committee is to encourage and facilitate expanded avenues for communications between the church congregation, staff, members, committees and the community at large. The Communications Committee overseas the Church Newsletter, Website, Media, Advertising and helps to keep the church data base updated. Council on Ministries: The Council on Ministriesis the programming arm of the church. On behalf of the congregation, we work in tandem with our staff to provide for the planning and implementation of a wide range of programs for the Church including outreach, worship, educational offerings, nurturing ministries, and age-level and family ministries. Education: The Education Committee oversees all of the adult educational programs in the Church. This includes our Sunday School and all Bible Studies Evangelism: The Committee coordinates welcoming visitors and follow-up. They encourage the congregation to make visitors feel welcome and reach out to those who have visited. Evangelism sponsors community outreach events Fellowship Committee: The Fellowship Committee is responsible for setting up special events to nurture our church as a community such as the Spring Fling, Fall Festival, receptions, special Sunday lunches, Homecoming and other special occasions that arise in the church. This Committee also sponsors Wednesday night super during the school year.
Finance Committee:
The Finance Committee handles the church's budget, which includes
the everyday housekeeping finances and salaries (which are
determined by the Staff Parish Committee). The Finance Committee has
several main purposes, including compiling the church's annual
budget and submitting it to the Administrative Board for review and
adoption. It coordinates with the Stewardship Committee for our
annual stewardship campaign for the congregation in anticipation of
financial needs for the coming year. Additionally it develops a
proposed budget compiling requests solicited from all program and
resource work areas. Technology Committee: The Technology Committee handles all of the technology issues of the church. Office networking system is their primary responsiblity. Lay Leader: The local church lay leader is elected by the charge conference to be the primary lay representative of the laity in the congregation. He or she is the pastor's partner in ministry and a good communicator who knows the congregation and is known by the congregation. The Lay Leader is a member of the Charge Conference and Council on Ministry, Finance Committee, Staff Parish Relations Committee, Committee on Lay Leadership, and other groups as needed. Long Range Planning Committee: The Long Range Planning Committee looks ahead five to ten years and helps us develop our vision Membership Care Committee: The Membership Care Committee assists in the welcoming of newcomers, the recruitment of new members, and the nurturing of current members. This committee also provides meals for families when there is a death. Missions: The Missions committee makes us aware of the needs in our local community as well as outside our community. The Committee is dedicated to taking the mission of the church beyond our walls and our congregation. The committee heads up projects to help and aid the community. Nominations Committee: Nominations is charged with encouraging and recruiting able leaders from the congregation to carry out the mission of the church. In addition, the Nominations Committee meets as necessary to nominate leaders to fill vacancies that may occur during the year Nursery Committee: The Nursery Committee works with the Nursery Coordinator on policies and procedures for the Nursery. Any major changes or issues are brought to the committee for input and decision. Preschool Committee: The Preschool Committee is composed of Church members who are both preschool parents and other concerned and supportive members. The Committee serves as support for the Director and as the liaison between the Church and the Preschool. Ramp Committee: Our Ramp Ministry provides handicapped home access ramps for our members as well as people in the community. Ramps are funded by the team that builds the ramps along with donations from Sunday School classes. Some ramps are paid for by the people for whom they are constructed. Sound and Media Committee: This Sound and Media Committee oversees all the audio and visual needs of the church. The run the sound system at all services, special programs, weddings and funerals. They are in charge of making tapes, CD’s and DVD’s of services. Staff Parish Relations Committee: The Staff Parish Relations Committee is concerned with the relationships between the pastors, staff, and church members. It is the personnel committee for the church, responsible for hiring, employment policies, evaluations, termination, and coordination of all paid staff. All such work is done in consultation with the program or resource committees in primary relationship with a given staff person. Serves as liaison committee between the pastor and the congregation and between the congregation and the Annual Conference. It also communicates and interprets to the congregation the nature and function of ministry in the United Methodist Church. Stewardship Committee: This Committee is responsible for providing a comprehensive stewardship plan for collecting, pledging, and disbursing church monies. The Committee is responsible for the annual Stewardship Drive. The objective of the Stewardship Committee is to plan and carry out a successful pledge campaign to underwrite the ministries budget of the church. The committee works with clergy to identify ministries accomplishments for the current year and plans for the coming year. In addition, the committee works with the Finance Committee to determine the financial goals for the pledge campaign. Worship Committee: The Worship Committee is an advisory group to the Pastor and the Director of Music and participates in worship planning and direction, including: Communion stewards, ushers, greeters, altar guild, acolyte coordination, and sanctuary upkeep and appearance. Youth Council: The Youth Council consists of representatives from each grade level of the youth group and three adult council members. They are responsible for planning and implementing Bible study, retreats, recreational activities, and mission projects for the youth group.
